The achilles heel of any alarm system is the fact that they all rely on a physical telephone line connection to exist in order to work. In the event that someone cuts the line, most alarms are rendered useless in that they are no longer capable of sending a signal to indicate that there is an alarm. Cellular back-up systems are one of a few of the back-up communications options that Provident offers to ensure that your alarm can still communicate with our Operations Centre after telephone lines have been cut.
